Volume & Audio Output

Amee can show and control your Mac’s system volume and mute state, list every currently available audio output device, and switch between them — the same devices you’d see in System Settings’ Sound page or Control Center.

System volume and mute

Adjust volume or mute directly from the mini player. This is the same system-wide “master volume” the menu bar and Control Center control, so changing it in Amee changes it everywhere, and vice versa — Amee’s display stays in sync with the volume keys, Control Center, or any other app.

Switching output devices

Amee lists your available outputs — built-in speakers, USB, Bluetooth, AirPlay, HDMI — and lets you switch the system default straight from the mini player, without needing to open System Settings or Control Center. The list updates live as devices connect, disconnect, or change.

Using AirPlay speakers

Amee includes a dedicated AirPlay button that opens Apple’s own AirPlay picker, showing every AirPlay receiver currently discoverable on your network — including ones you haven’t used with Amee before. Once you’ve selected an AirPlay speaker at least once (through this button, Control Center, or System Settings), it also shows up in Amee’s regular output-device list going forward.

This requires local network access, which macOS will prompt for the first time Amee looks for AirPlay speakers.
